Euro Hockey Junior Nations Trophy (MEN) - Bra
PRESIDENTIAL GREETINGS
It is a great pleasure for me to welcome everyone on behalf of the European Hockey Federation to the beautiful region of Bra EuroHockey Junior Nations Trophy (men). Since 1996, the EuroHockey under 21 nations tournaments have taken place every two years and this has given more opportunities to our young players to take part in international competition.
The EHF is pleased that its strategy to increase participation in this important age category has paid off with an increase in participation. This age category is particularly important for the developing countries that have been very successfully in establishing youth players as this tournament provides a transition from youth to full senior internationals. In addition to the tournament here in Bra, The Championship is in San Sebastian, the Challenge is in Baku, Azerbaijan and the women's events are in Valencia, Spain (Championship), Prague, Czech Republic (Trophy) and the Challenge is in Vienna, Austria.
I wish the very best of luck to all those who are taking part in this tournament. To the coaches, umpires and officials but especially the players, may you enjoy a competitive, rewarding and, above all, enjoyable event. These tournaments are usually well attended, with many spectators being the proud parents of the players. I take this opportunity to remind you all that your positive support of these young players is much appreciated.
Finally, tournaments like this take a lot of organising. The European Hockey Federation is most grateful to Luca di Mauro, President Federazione Italiana Hockey and his Committee for all the hard work that has taken place to ensure a well-organised and exciting tournament.
Mucha suerte!
